Sheet and Tube Fabrication

Precision laser cutting and sheet metal fabrication forprototypes, low-volume production, and end-use parts. Mechalink delivers accurate, repeatable sheet metal components through a trusted global manufacturing network, with full engineering support from design review through to delivery. We work with engineers and product teams to ensure parts aredesigned correctly for fabrication, bent accurately, finished to spec, anddelivered on time — without the overheads and limitations of local-only supplychains.

LASER CUTTING

Capabililities

Our laser cutting services support both prototyping and production, with tight tolerances, clean edge quality, and edge quality, and consistent repeatability across batches.

Laser Types

  • Fiber laser cutting (primary)
  • CO2 laser cutting (material dependent)

Typical Specifications

  • Sheet thickeness: 0.5 mm - 25.0mm (material dependent)
  • Feature resolution suitable for tabs, slots, louvers, and fine internal cut-outs
  • Consistent kerf control and minimal heat-affected zones
  • Tolerances: ±0.1mm to 0.2mm

Laser cutting is ideal for flat patterns prior to bending, brackets, enclosures, panels and structural sheet components.

DESIGN

Fabrication Services

Fabrication Capabilities

  • CNC press brake bending
  • Multi-stage formed components
  • Welded sheet metal assemblies
  • PEM inserts, studs and fasteners
  • Riveting and mechanical fastening

Bend Capabilities

  • Air bending, bottom bending
  • Tight internal radii
  • Complex multi-bend parts
  • Repeatable forming for production runs

We support both simple folded brackets and complex formed assemblies, ensuring parts are designed correctly for bend allowances, tooling constraints, and fit-up.

Mechalink provides full sheet metal fabrication beyond flat cutting, including forming, joining and finishing processes

COMPONENTS

Design for Sheet Metal Manufacturing (DFM)

Sheet metal parts often fail not due to fabrication quality, but due to poor design assumptions. Mechalink reviews assumptions. Mechalink reviews every job to ensure it is manufacturable, cost-effective, and consistent.

We assist with:

  • Bend radius optimisation
  • Flat pattern development
  • Hole-to-bend spacing
  • Feature placement and tolerances
  • Material selection and thickness optimisation

If required, we can modify or fully redesign parts to suit fabrication constraints before releasing them to production.
